The PRIM Pavouk 40 C model undoubtedly belongs among the most interesting watches created in Nové Město nad Metují during the factory’s more than seventy-year history. The watch case is the most demanding case from our production in terms of manufacturing. To achieve truly perfect shapes from every angle, many hours of handwork are required, especially polishing and grinding. Thanks to the facet on the outer side, the bent lugs perfectly reflect light and highlight the impressive contours of the case. The smaller version with a 34 mm case diameter, sold under the name PRIM Pavouk 34 C, is designed mainly for ladies who prefer more subtle watch dimensions.
The Pavouk model is also characterised by a dial with a complex embossed relief and raised indices, which, just like the hands, are either in the colour of the case metal or in rose gold. In its standard version, the case is made of noble 316L stainless steel, but upon customer request it can also be produced in yellow, white or rose gold. Customers may also choose from four dial colour variants. The watch is fitted with an in-house manufactured automatic movement.
The original watches of this type date back to the early 1960s. Thanks to the characteristic shape of the case, with lugs bent in two directions resembling the spread legs of a spider, the model was nicknamed Pavouk from the very beginning. Under the same name, the watch is still produced today and, together with the Diplomat model, belongs among the finest dress watches of the Nové Město manufacture. Interestingly, the “spider leg case” also appeared among several other manufacturers, but due to the complexity of production, it is nowadays considered a rather exceptionally used type of case.
