The MIG was also manufactured under licence in Czechoslovakia. Several Czechoslovak aircraft factories took part in its production. The dominant feature of the dial is the strongly contrasting indices (numbers). Thanks to the distinctive and unmistakable font, one glance at the dial immediately recalls the “gauges” on the instrument panel of the legendary fighter aircraft.
The matt sandblasted case is treated with DLC technology, making the surface highly resistant to scratches, corrosion, high temperatures and acids. Unlike, for example, paint, the DLC surface cannot wear off or peel; the protective layer is not merely “applied”, but, thanks to the technology used, is directly bonded to the case material. The watch can therefore also be worn during sport and other physical activities. This is matched by selected, very high-quality textile NATO straps.
The crown stands out with its unconventional design, whose pronounced grooves resemble an engine cylinder block. The case back features a laser-created graphic rendering of the Pilot model name, as well as the indication of the watch’s origin – Nové Město nad Metují.
The watch is fitted with a Swiss quartz movement, the Ronda 715. Various colour versions of the dial and strap, which can be combined on request, make it possible to choose a model according to each customer’s individual style.
